Heard it first on SIRIUS XM
Stern on a Morning Commute
TheKidd Loves SIRIUS XM
TheKidd is HOOKED!
My story begins back in Dec of 2004 when I started training for my first job,
the job being for Sirius Customer Service and Activations. I thought nothing
of it other than being a job giving me my money to feed myself and to have a
drink on the weekend.
About a month into the job we began playing the radio over the computers via
the Sirius internet radio, and that is where my addiction began. I started
checking out more and more of the channels, mostly listening to the Hip-Hop and
R&B channels at first, but got into the pop channels, some rock and even some
of the oldies.
After only a couple of months of listening, I decided that I had to have one of
these radios for myself even though I didn’t drive. That is when I decided to
order a radio via eBay, which was my first Xact Stream Jockey.
The radio was primarily used at home as I didn’t have my own vehicle. Now this
is where I got more into the comedy and Howard Stern as they were not yet
online on the internet radio. Once I got into that, I had to move it into my
mothers car as she was the one that drove me to and from work as she worked
near by.
About a year later, I got my own car and moved the radio into my own vehicle
which I was thrilled about, however, my mother and father were lost going back
to regular terrestrial radio. So.. we had to get them a radio of their own.
As it is right now, we have 3 radios, parents have 1 each and I have 1 myself
and we can’t get into the cars without turning them on. My job involves
driving around so I try to never miss Howard Stern in the morning and then in
the evenings is when I usually listen to my Hip-hop music.
Every year when we travel as well, we always have at least 1 radio with us and
it is on the whole way.. from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to St. Johns,
Newfoundland even all throughout New Brunswick, we never have a problem with
the reception.. it is really awesome.
When I got my dad the radio, we got him a lifetime subscription, which I think
was a great investment. Doing some math, right now it is working out to be
about $15 per month, so by the end of this year we will be ahead with the plan
rather than paying per month or per year.
Keep it up SIRIUS XM!
