DJ Who Loves Casey Kasem

September 19th, 2009

I have been a DJ and “Door Diva” in nightclubs in LA, NY & Chicago for over 20 years. Nightlife and music is my job. One of my favorite shows on SiriusXm is the Casey Kasem’s countdown. I usually listen when I get home from work on Saturday mornings. Each week they go back in time and I am reminded of various points of my life and how that music effected me in that moment. It is like time travel.

My Cleaning Lady ALSO Loves My SiriusXM Radio

September 18th, 2009

In addition to the numerous channels I enjoy as a SiriusXM subscriber, I now have another reason to love my radio.  My cleaning lady is Hispanic and barely speaks any English at all. She cleans my apartment once a month and normally has to suffer through a quiet apartment. Recently, it occurred to me that SiriusXM has programming in other languages. SiriusXM has two channels: Viva and Caliente that my cleaning lady can listen to while she is here.  It made her very happy.

John Has 9 Lifetime Memberships

September 17th, 2009

I’ve been a fan of Sirius from the very start…I have 9 lifetime memberships all purchased before 2003 and that has already paid off. I didn’t really know the XM lineup. I’m a big fan of a few stations; Hits 1, The Pulse, Lithium, Coffee House, Hip-Hop Nation, Siriusly Sinatra, The Joint, and Howard 101.

In my work I can listen all day long so I tend to jump around on those channels. Overall, the only thing that really pisses me off is when they move channels. That reggae channel has got to have moved number assignments 3 or 4 times already…each time it moves I feel it is getting closer to being canned and that would really suck.

Most of my radios are Stiletto 100’s and I now have 2 Stiletto 2’s. I really like these for their WiFi capability since there is no reception via satellite or terrestrial repeaters where I am during the work day. I truly wish they would put the entire line up on over the Internet streams…heck, we’re already paying for the content right?

By the way…I am desperately hoping the merger actually works and turns profitable as I absolutely would hate to go back to commercial filled BS radio.

My Sirius Experience

September 15th, 2009

My Sirius (now SiriusXM) experience is summed up in one word.  FREEDOM.  Free from all the commercial filled FM stations where you end up not hearing a single song if you hit a commercial break at that perfect moment. I got my one and only Sirius received upon hearing the news Howard Stern would be leaving the FM airwaves.  Initially I figured all I would need to listen was his show and nothing else.  Well January 2006 rolled around and I was introduced to over 100 channels of “stuff” as I called it.  If I wanted a laugh I’d navigate to the comedy channel, if I wanted news, I’d go to the news channels, and if I wanted music….whoa.  Commercial free music, I had a ton of channels to choose from.

Then came the Bubba The Love Sponge Show.  These guys are crazy, in a good way and solidified my yearly subscriptions to the service.  Now because of this consider myself a lifelong member of Sirius.  I look forward to the company’s growth and prosperity.  Terrestrial Radio SUCKS!

Travis D. Likes the New Content on SiriusXM

September 9th, 2009

I actually Like the new Content of Sirius XM I enjoy the new progamming.  Previously, I couldn’t get certain programming as a Sirius customer like: MLB, Opie and Anthony and lots of ACC and other sports and talk channels. Since the merger, I like that I can get this programming. I am confident that Sirius XM will be here as a company for years to come.

Athos Listens To Howard Stern in Greece

September 8th, 2009

I went to college in the United States, where I first discovered Howard Stern. I have an internet subscription that I have had for the past year now. The only reason I subscribed was to listen to Howard Stern.  The nice thing about the 7 hour difference we have with New York is that The Howard Stern show is an afternoon show for me.  I can sit back and listen to the whole show without having to get up at 6am :) I was following Howard through his site and the Stern Fan Network and as soon as the online option was available, I joined. I would really like though for the SiriusXM company to expand their coverage and bring it to Europe.  Imagine how many more millions of subscribers would join.

Jennifer Loves XM Radio

September 5th, 2009

I couldn’t imagine life without XM.   I’ve had it since it came out about 5 years ago…Since NYC has NO country music stations at all (even though there are about 4342  hip hop/rap/pop stations), my redneck ass needs XM for survival.  Yes, I essentially pay to listen to country music.  Not only that, my evening commute would simply suck without Jason Ellis on Faction 28.  A few years ago, I canceled it for a few months thinking I could handle it, but I nearly lost my mind and quickly had it reinstated.   When I’m on a long drive, it’s always fun to put on 247 and listen to the nation’s emergencies…or traffic and weather in other cities across the country.  Yeah, I’m weird.

Why I Love Sirius…by David L.

Why I love Sirius…..

My commute is over 60 miles each way. I love having my McDonald’s coffee and hearing Bababooey use the word “f” word - if he wants to.

I love that if I wanted to talk about the Wake Forest linebackers for an hour, I can tune into Rivals Radio (ch.122). I love that I can hear exactly what I want to hear, when I want to hear it, without interference from the FCC!!
